SOS Kindergarten Basse is located inside SOS Children’s Village Basse. It is situated 1KM away from Basse Mansajang Kunda, Upper River Region. SOS Kindergarten Basse started operation in September 2007 and offers pre-primary education to children from 2 years 8 months - 6 years plus. It opens daily; Mondays to Thursdays 8:00am – 1:00pm and Fridays 8:00am – 12:00pm

SOS Kindergarten Basse provides quality education and excellentce services to both SOS children and the community. It has 10 Feeder villages presently where children come from to attend classes. The school has four classrooms or groups namely; Toddler, Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3. There is a Montessori classroom which offers the slow learners the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills. Subjects taught at the school includes English, Math (Number), Science, SES, Writing, Spelling, Reading, Jolly Phonics, Arts, PE, French and Montessori.

The school is been supervised by the Kindergarten Director and have has 4 Qualified Educators and 2 ancillary staff (Care Giver and Cleaner) all trained and qualified. Presently, it has a roll of 127 children’s (58 boys and 69 girls) out of which 4 boys and 3 girls are SOS Children’s and the rest are from the community. The school has graduated more than 375 children to Lower Basic Schools since its inception to date. 

The school conducts termly assessment for all groups. Parents are invited each term for to an Open Day which offers them the opportunity to have a face to face discussion with Educators about the welfare of their children’s educational standard and the way forward.  

The school offers extracurricular activities like the annual inter- house sports competition, Christmas party, Ccommonwealth day celebration and field trips to important places in the community.

With our code of conduct and child protection policy, staff do everything possible to ensure that the children are safe and secure when they entered into our premises and before until they go back home. We also have two securityies personnel stations at the two gates that monitor in the entry and out exit of visitors.
