Handing over Ceremony of donated Catering equipment to SOS Children’s Villages Mother and Adult Training Center.

Turkish Cooperation and Development Administration (TIKA) handed over 100 items of catering equipment to the SOS Children’s Villages Regional Mother and Adult Training Center in The Gambia.
“The donation of these items will modernize the kitchen at the Training Center and also boost the center’s strive towards ensuring standards and quality service for customers and students accordingly to the director of the center” Mrs. Ellen Maraizu.
Furthermore, the training center has graduated 1500 students in different domains in the past 30 years (Certificates and Diplomas) in Catering and hospitality, Sewing, Social Work, literacy, and numeracy.
“Technical and Vocational Education and Training ( TVET) is a perfect alternative to academic education, offering not only education and career support, but also opportunities for personal growth and poverty reduction. The purpose of the donation is to ensure effective skills training in areas of cooking and pastry, housekeeping and restaurant service. Furthermore, the donated items will facilitate the transfer of skills most needed in the hospitality industry” Mrs. Sule Bayar TIKA Banjul Coordinator.
