Ebrima Cham, fondly called Barhama is a singer, a song writer, an instrumentalist, an actor and an activist who has spent a lot of his life doing music to entertain, educate and inform. He began his career proper in 2016 after a high force of inspiration and motivation from his environment and the people around, the problems facing society and the world at large.

He was the lead Vocalist of a household musical group, Kerr Gi family. Barhama fine-tuned the shape of Gambian music through the introduction of diverse cultures in his productions, mixing local and international instruments to serve the best taste of entertainment to the audience in The Gambia and beyond.

He does not only sing to entertain, but he also uses music as a tool to create awareness on crucial matters, thereby extremely changing the lives of people. This includes but not limited to songs and performances on Gender Based Violence, Child Protection and Rights, Climate change, Peace and Reconciliation, Transitional Justice, Employment, etc.

In June 2019, he represented The Gambia in the UNFPA Summit in Dakar, Senegal, to serve advocacy performances on the protection and promotion of the rights and welfares of women. In 2019 he went on his first European tour where his lethal performances and golden voice have begun attracting new sets of fans, well-wishers and labels.

Ebrima Cham vocal power gives him the ability to positively amaze crowds in live performances, making him one of the country’s finest Live performers, thus winning the award for the best Afro-Fusion group in 2016.

SOS Children’s Villages in The Gambia wishes him all the best in his role.
