The National Director and Advocacy and Communication Coordinator SOS Children’s Villages The Gambia on Thursday the 22nd of April joined other NGOs in The Gambia to review The Gambia’s NGO Bill 2020. The meeting was held at a local hotel organised by the National NGO Affairs Agency of The Gambia. The Bill seeks to amend the legal framework to capture recent developments in the Non- Governmental Organisations Sector. It further expounds on the relationship between the Government of The Gambia and Non-Governmental Organisations as contained in the Protocol of Accord ( First Schedule). The Bill will however reduce the maximum period for NGOs registration from two years to one year as part of the draft.
