Review of the Minimum Standard for Child Care Institutions in The Gambia.

SOS Children’s Villages in The Gambia in Monday the 27th of September 2021, joins the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Welfare with Stakeholders and Child Care Professionals to review the Minimum Standard and Checklist for the operation of Residential Child Care Institutions.

The idea is to ensure that the document is up to date to ensure that all care
institutions adhere and conform to the required standards for the safe, security and wellbeing of children in these institutions.

Some of areas highlighted in the document looks at the following:

1. CARING FOR CHILDREN IN THE RESIDENTIAL HOME, 2.CASE MANAGEMENT OF CHILDREN IN THE RESIDENTIAL HOMES, 3.RESIDENTIAL HOMES FOR CHILDREN PREMISES AND FACILITIES, 4.GOVERNANCE, 5.STAFFING AND MANAGEMENT.

SOS Children’s Villages in The Gambia reaffirm their commitment and advocacy in ensuring Quality Care for all Children in all forms of Alternative Care. ( Foster Care, Kinship, Family-like Care and Residential Child Care Homes) duirng the one day workshop.
