SOS Children’s Villages in The Gambia paid a courtesy to the President of the Republic of The Gambia

SOS Children’s Villages in The Gambia paid a courtesy call to His Excellency the President of the Republic of The Gambia earlier on Tuesday the 4th of April 2023 at the State House in Banjul.

The team was led by the National Director of SOS Children’s Villages in The Gambia Jean -Pierre Kouamin and accompanied by the National Management Team.

The purpose of the courtesy call was to brief the Head of State of SOS Children’s Villages in The Gambia work and also to introduce the National Director who was appointed last year.

The team and the President discussed a lot of issues related to Child Rights and Protection, Youth Empowerment and Employability also Women Empowerment.

President Barrow thanked SOS Children’s Villages for “Putting a Smile on many Gambians and Changing Lives”. He pledged his government’s support for SOS Children transiting into the community by having the right policy environment to guarantee their smooth transition. In his statement, ” SOS Children’s Villages is doing a very good job and complementing the work of Government”. “We are very happy with SOS Children’s Villages, and you are filling a gap in the country”.

SOS Children’s Villages in The  Gambia reaffirm her commitment to supporting vulnerable children and promoting the rights and welfare of Youth and  Women in The  Gambia.
